The East Neuk

The eastern corner or 'neuk'of Fife. Starts at Elie/Earlsferry and ends at Fife Ness where the Firth of Forth meets the North Sea. In between are 15 miles of outstanding coastline along which lies a string of picturesque fishing villages and harbours. Pittenweem has the largest commercial fishing fleet in the district, Anstruther has a marina and the best fish and chips in Scotland, Crail is the prettiest and smallest of the harbours, St Monans has an old church next to the sea and has a unique little breakwater whilst Elie has the finest lighthouse in the Neuk.
